Yeah, thats pretty much it. If you can fire a paintball gin then you can play. But dont buy one just yet. Go to a feild and rent a gun for a day so you can see if you like the sport of paintball.
I went to a paintball place when i was 10 years old to play.
i rented a gun and bought paint there.
18 to buy one as said above.
but some places are less strict than others.
go to the place first, or call them and ask.
that would be much easier.
- You can play at any age (though under 8 or 9 it NOT recommended). And for the getting of paintball guns, any local store (Wal-Mart, Target, etc.) will sell beginner guns. I would personally recommend a Tippmann 98 Custom as the first gun for you and your nephew as they are extremely well built and will last you for literally your entire paintball career, unless you choose to get more serious about it.
That depends on whether or not you, or another adult, will be going with your nephew.
While most paintball fields ask you to fill out a release of liability form (which you must be at least 18 to do), many fields allow kids as young as 13 or even 10 to play if they are accompanied by an adult, who fills out the release form on the minors behalf.
you can rent guns at the feilds for $10 or $15 depending where you go.
and you can play at age 12 at my field. you should ask the people who own the feild. you have to be 18 to buy a gun.
if its a new player, i suggest renting the first time
As for age and the law, places like walmart will make sure you are 18 to buy ANY paintball equipment, even balls, pro shops will usually sell most things besides markers to strangers without being 18, if they know you are a responsible player, they dont usually have an issue.
To rent gear and play at a field, the law says nothing. However, at regulated fields (not “outlaw” or “backyard” play) they will have insurance, which will ALMOST ALWAYS stipulate that the players must be at least 10. Ive played on insured fields who “accidentally” forgot to ask the age of kids as long as they looked like they could manage responsibly, letting 8 or 9 slide sometimes, however, best bet is to count on the age of 10.
