How do i figure out the rounds per minute of my paintball gun?

im new to paintball stuff so i dont know this. i got a paint ball gun for my birthday but it has no instruction book or anything. just the gun, barrel, tank, and the ball holder.

  1. The best way to find the BPS (balls per second) of your marker is to shoot it through a chronograph. Your local field should have one. But unless it’s a high-end electronic marker then your not going to be that surprised. Remember even in paintball its quality not quantity that matters.

  2. What kind of gun do you have. Most people pull on average of 11-13 balls per second when they correctly walk a trigger on double finger trigger. With one finger you’re average is up to 6 bps at the highest. Multiply that by 60 and thats your rounds per minute.

  3. Its going to depend on your hopper as much as your marker. A gravity fed hopper can supply balls at about 7-9 bps at best.

    Simplest way to workout the bps is to fill your hopper with a known number of balls,150-200 balls, and then get someone else to start a timer while you shoot as fast as you can until its empty. Divide the number of rounds by the time = bps. multiply by 60 for balls per minute.
